PERRY, Fla. (WCTV) -- The Florida Highway Patrol says a Taylor County Sheriff's Office deputy was killed in an accident
south of Perry Monday morning.
Deputy Scott Williams was killed when he rear-ended a logging truck near the intersection of US 98 / US 19 at Beach Road
about five miles south of Perry, according to FHP.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. Officials say he was in his patrol car on the way to work.
According to the FHP website, US 98 / US 19 was shut down and being rerouted Monday morning, but has since been reopened.
WCTV will update this story as more information becomes available.
Scott has been a member of APACK for quite awhile. He moved from Brooksville, up to the Steinhatchee area a few years back, but has always stayed in touch with many of our members. We, like his many friends, and family will miss Scott. Scott has touched many people in his life. May he rest in eternal peace. Our hearts go out to his family.
